Alan Schantz, creator of “Understanding Your HOA The Easy Way©”, directed all aspects of Community Associations for a national homebuilder for ten years. His work included development of CC&Rs, Property Disclosure Documents and contracting with Community Association management companies. Mr. Schantz directed establishing, operating and transitioning Community Associations as Board President. Serving on the homebuilder’s regional development teams he helped direct community planning including HOA Common Area Landscape, Community Facilities and all aspects of community development impacting new communities and their residents.
Mr. Schantz served as Board President of dozens of HOAs from creation through transition to homeowner control. He managed proper completion and turnover of HOA facilities and common areas including remediation of construction issues that could result in litigation against the Developer. After build-out and transition he was the HOA’s Developer contact to resolve issues and avoid litigation. Mr. Schantz’s background includes:
- Ten years as Community Association Director for a national homebuilder
- Creator of “Understanding Your HOA The Easy Way©” a unique 15-minute DVD that clearly explains what people need to know about living in an HOA
- Licensed California Real Estate Broker for over 30 years
- Bachelors Degree Psychology
- Juvenile Probation Department Counselor Santa Clara County
- Excellent writing, speaking and presentation skills
- Effective negotiation and issue resolution skills
